Speaking at the national assembly, Dr. Bimala Rai Paudyal raised concern about delay in clearing the bill regarding citizenship from Federal parliament. In absence of the law, nearly 600 thousands youths (6 lakhs), mostly children of single mothers, are not able to get citizenship and are denied of enjoying fundamental rights granted by the constitution. She questioned why the rights given by the Constitution is being denied? She further urged the federal parliament to clear the bill soonest possible. She further asked the government to issue any document that enable the Nepali youths without citizenship to enjoy fundamental rights granted by the constitution till the law on citizenship is passed by the Parliament.
